MANILA -- Self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) member and retired police officer Arturo "Arthur" Lascañas has left the Philippines on Saturday bound for Singapore, an official of the Bureau of Immigration has confirmed.
A report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer said Lascañas left the country on Saturday to an undisclosed location.
In a phone interview with ABS-CBN News on Sunday, BI spokesperson Tonette Mangrobang confirmed that Lascañas left the country on board a Tiger Airways flight to Singapore on Saturday afternoon.
"Based on the report of our port operations division, Arthur Lascañas presented himself for immigration formalities departing bound for Singapore yesterday (Saturday) at around 5:01 pm," Mangrobang said.
Mangrobang added that there was no hold departure order or lookout bulletin issued against Lascañas.
"Based on the report, the Bureau of Immigration did not have any derogatory record issued against Mr. Lascañas meaning there is no immigration lookout bulletin or hold departure order that could have delayed or prevented his departure," she said.
Since President Rodrigo Duterte assumed power, Lascañas and Edgar Matobato, also a self-confessed hitman, have since surfaced to claim that some murders in Davao City were ordered by Duterte during his time as mayor of the city.
In his most recent appearance before the Senate, Lascañas flip-flopped on his claims and tagged President Duterte in the killings.

In defending his change of heart, Lascañas said he was not ready at that time to reveal what he knew out of fear for his safety and his family's.
ABS-CBN News is trying to reach Lascañas as of posting time.
