President Rodrigo Duterte in his speech in Camarines Sur said that he refused to personally give away relief goods as it would appear dramatic.
He said it would some sort of political propaganda.
“Style bulok yan, ayaw na ayaw ko yan!,” he said.
The President visited Catanduanes where hundreds went to see him.
He said he would give away financial assistance, with the final amount to be revealed before new year.
The President told the victims not to despair and that he hopes that they will recover their bearings.
The beneficiaries were given relief packs that were unloaded by a C130 plane from Mactan airport in Cebu Monday afternoon. The food packs were from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 7.
Duterte visited Pili in Cam Sur, then Cadlan where he gave away a speech, having given relief goods to about two hundred residents by five pm.
Inside the relief pack are six kilos of rice, four cans of corned beef, four cans of sardines, a malong, a blanket and a mosquito net.
